(If you can call some stuff in my study a recording studio...)
All of my music was played on my piano, which I bought used in 2000 for $3000. It is a Yamaha P22 45" upright , probably made in the 1980s. I record using an Audio-Technica AT3035 cardioid capacitor microphone, plugged into my iMac G5 running GarageBand. I also have a MIDI keyboard, but I haven't used it for anything yet.
|In terms of mixing and effects, I don't do much at all. I record each piece in one or more sections, depending upon my ability to play without mistakes and not being able to easily display more than four sheets of music on the piano at a time. I blend the sections together in Garageband to make a seamless piece. I then duplicate the whole track On one track I boost the bass a bit and pan it entirely to the left, and on the other track I boost the treble and pan to the right. This gives a stereo effect without altering the music noticably.|
